My path in Art

Artist Biography

James Haddock graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State University, and obtained his Masters degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. James is a retired Texas public school counselor and a private therapist.
After retirement, James began his study of art. He studied with local artists Martha Howell, Sleepy Read, and Mary Parvin. He also studied with Jan Sitts of Sedona, Arizona, and Mary Ann Beckwith of Michigan.

James has exhibited with the Arthouse at the Jones Center in Austin and Dallas, Texas; Johnson County Art Guild; Renaissance Christian Book Store in Cleburne, Texas; Society of Watercolor Artists; Texas Artists Coalition at the Fort Worth Community Art Center; Panther City Coffee Company Art Gallery; Artists Warehouse Gallery; ArtworksDFW popup Gallery in Fort Worth, Texas; Arlington Visual Artists Association; Arlington Museum of Art in Arlington, Texas; Denali Dreams Art Gallery in Monett, Missouri; Winding Roads Art Gallery in Joshua, Texas; Loan Oak Winery in Burleson, Texas; Weatherford Gallery Photography Show in Weatherford, Texas; and Art Splash on the Square in Graham, Texas.
Currently, James is exhibiting art at the Bob Duncan Center in Arlington, Texas; and at ARTworksDFW Art Gallery, Park Plaza building at 2501 Parkview Drive, Fort Worth, Texas.

James is now working with Japanese papers encased in medium and gels on canvas, to produce mixed media works of art.
